Certificate Renewal Information

Florida Educators with a 5-year Professional Certificate must renew their certificate during the last year of the certificate's validity period. To renew your certificate, you need a minimum of 120 in-service points, or the equivalent in college courses or a combination of in-service points and college courses, including the 20 point teaching students with disabilities requirement. You can take SWD courses for renewal credit through the FDLRS-BEESS PORTAL .

Once you have enough renewal credit entered into Skyward login to your FLDOE Account and follow the renewal application instructions.

Please indicate #47 – Okeechobee County as your district affiliation, if not displayed already.

After completing the online application, educators must also complete the district application, which is found here, and submit it to Human Resources, along with a $75.00 fee.  This may be paid through cash, check, money order or online here. (If paying online please print receipt)

If your certificate expires 6/30/2025 or after and you have one of these subjects on your certificate, you will need to complete a 40 point reading course requirement. This 40 point course is included in the total 120 required renewal points.
